How do I manage my Instagram privacy?
Instagram is our life in pictures, videos and disappearing stories. Over the years we’ve posted hundreds (maybe thousands) of perfectly cropped, filtered and tagged pictures from amazing holidays to good times with friends to special moments with family.
Who can see this content though? Is your account set to private so that only approved followers can see your content? Can you remember who you’ve accepted in the past?
Instagram’s privacy settings allow you to control who can view your content and personal information, and importantly, how they can view it. The top three things to check are:
- Private or public account- whether anyone or only your followers can see your content
- Who can like or comment on your posts- restrict the audience of your content
- Remove images from Google search- control which content is accessible from the web
There are many other privacy settings so we recommend taking a minute to go through them and ensure you’re happy with how your account is set up.This page covers privacy settings and information, and all these can be managed within the app through Settings>Privacy. It’s a good habit to check these regularly so you’re always in control.
